The Covid-19 virus is gradually spreading in Burma. There is hardly any reliable information available, the official figures seem unrealistic and beautified.

There is a great danger that the Covid-19 epidemic will spread uncontrolled – and initially undetected – to the rural areas of the ethnic states. These areas are also areas of conflict in which struggles between the Burmese army and the ethnic armies flare up again and again, and in which increasing air raids and artillery attacks on the civilian population have been taking place recently. This particularly affects the areas of Arakan State, Chin State, Kachin State and Shan State. >>>
